Information that we may collect from you
During normal business, we may collect data from you during telephone conversations, visiting our website, Email or SMS messages. We will email, call or contact you after your initial enquiry in order to follow up on your interest and ensure that we have answered all your queries. Your personal data such as name, address and phone number will be passed to the driving instructor that will be giving your driving lessons. We will only keep your data for as long as is necessary and once you have passed your driving test we will no longer keep your information.
Your data will be kept on our PC, Laptops, and smartphones. Our smartphones will have fingerprint identity security or be password protected. We will never share or disclose your data to any third parties without your prior consent. If any hard paper copies from your training or reflections are kept then these will be kept locked overnight and are in the car with your instructor during the day
Some of our driving instructors may use driving lesson recording devices, like dash cams that maybe forward or rear facing or similar video recording devices that are utilised to enhance your training experience. The data and footage captured may also be used as evidence in the event of an insurance claim or police investigation. In the event that a valuable piece of learning can be used by what the dash cam has recorded, your instructor may play it back. All dash cam footage is deleted based on dash cam settings.
We do not collect any Personal Data about you for example, details about your race or ethnicity, religious or philosophical beliefs, sex life, sexual orientation, political opinions, trade union membership or information about your health. Neither do we collect any information about criminal convictions and offences.
How we use your data
We may use your information to respond to your enquiry and to provide our services to you. This includes your driving lessons and taking payments. We may also use your data to telephone you or send you test messages or emails.
Some of your data such as your name, address, telephone number and email address may be shared with our franchised instructors if for some reason they need to conduct your lesson or take you for your driving test due to your instructor being unwell. No payment details will be shared with other instructors unless you decide to change your driving instructor and make payments direct with another instructor.
Upon passing your driving test it is our standard practice to request a testimonial, google review or photograph which will be placed on both our website and social media pages such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram, twitter and google business for marketing purposes. It is your absolute right to refuse to have a photo taken. Please ensure you inform your driving instructor if you do not want to have your photograph put on our social media pages. If you DO NOT inform your instructor then KSL will assume you have given implied consent and your image will be used.
We don’t use card machines and online bank payments are made into your instructors bank account so we don’t have your personal banking details. Once your driving lessons are finished and you have passed your driving test, we will no longer store your personal information.
